ICC approves more power for 'Big Three'
Posted by Undercover 999 on Tuesday, 28 January 2014
England, India and Australia are set to have more control over the sport under controversial new plans agreed by the International Cricket Council. The ICC claimed that principles, including a new executive committee of five members with one from each of the "Big Three", were unanimously backed. But the representatives of Pakistan and South Africa said their boards were yet to agree to the plans. The ICC has also decided to scrap the World Test Championship. The event, scheduled for Eland in 2017, will be replaced by the return of the Champions Trophy one-day tournament. Plans to give more power to England, India and Australia were leaked last week and strongly opposed by the boards of South Africa and Pakistan as well as the international players' union (Fica).
