Skier Vonn hurt in serious crash

Olympic gold medallist Lindsey Vonn was airlifted to hospital after a serious crash on the opening day of the Alpine Skiing World Championships in Austria. Vonn was reported to have ruptured cruciate ligaments in her right knee, which rules her out for the season. The crash happened shortly after 14:15 GMT on Tuesday during the women's super-G event. A helicopter was immediately called with medics treating the 28-year-old American on the slope for 12 minutes.
