Carrick & Welbeck miss England games

Manchester United pair Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck have withdrawn from the England squad for the friendlies against Chile and Germany. Midfielder Carrick, 32, has an Achilles tendon problem, while 22-year-old striker Welbeck has a knee injury. England meet Chile on Friday and Germany on Tuesday, with both games at Wembley.
