Pellegrini condemns Moscow pitch

Posted by Undercover 999 on Tuesday, 22 October 2013

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is unhappy with the Khimki Arena pitch for Wednesday's Champions League match against CSKA Moscow. Earlier this month, Uefa ordered CSKA to stage their home game against Viktoria Plzen  in St Petersburg because of the condition of the playing surface at the 18,000-capacity stadium. "It is unbelievable that we can play on this pitch," Pellegrini said. "We must pray tomorrow because if it rains it will be impossible to play." Thpitch is in poor condition and rutted after heavy rain in the Russian capital, and Pellegrini, 60, says he is surprised that the Uefa observer has allowed the Group D match to be played there.
