Jamaican drug testing to be audited
Posted by Undercover 999 on Monday, 14 October 2013
Jamaica's drug-testing practices are to be audited by the World Anti-Doping Agency, the Associated Press reports. A former director of the Jamaican Anti-Doping Commission (Jadco) claims a significant gap in out-of-competition testing existed ahead of the Olympics. Since London 2012 though, high-profile sprinters including Asafa Powell have tested positive for banned substances. But the IAAF, athletics' governing body, insists it extensively tested elite Jamaicans throughout that perio The country's sprinters won eight individual medals at the London Games.
