Sunderland players approached the club's chief executive Margaret Byrne to complain about boss Paolo Di Canio before the Italian's sacking. The Black Cats have picked up only one point from their opening five Premier League games this season. Di Canio held a Sunday meeting, which turned heated, with his players after Saturday's 3-0 defeat by West Brom.
