I am not a fascist, says Di Canio
Posted by Undercover 999 on Wednesday, 3 April 2013
New Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio says he does not hold fascist beliefs. The 44-year-old Italian, who took over from Martin O'Neill on Sunday, initially refused to answer questions on his reported fascist principles. But in a statement he said: "I am not political, I do not affiliate myself to any organisation. I am not a racist. "I do not support the ideology of fascism. I respect everyone. I am a football man. This and my family are my focus."
